Recognition of Prior Learning - SAPS Detectives


Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is a process of comparing your knowledge and skills against a qualification or part thereof. The process involves the identification, mediation, assessment and acknowledgement of knowledge and skills obtained through informal, non-formal and/or formal learning. 

At Forensics4Africa we wish to recognise your prior learning and experience should you be a Police Official (Detective) employed by the South African Police Service. Successful applicants will be awarded the National Certificate Resolving of Crime (Policing: General Investigation) qualification. 

Note that the documents required for your application are listed below and can be found in the application form.
  • Your ID / passport (Certified)
  • Your Qualifications and Training (Not Certified)
  • Comprehensive Curriculum Vitae (Not Certified)
  • Latest signed Performance Appraisal document (PEP) (Not Certified)
  • Latest signed Job Description document (Not Certified)
  • SAPS 96 (Not Certified)
  • SAPS 6 (Not Certified)
  • SPO1 form (SASSETA registration form)
Important:  The SPO1 form needs to be filled in the following way:
~ Only use black pen
~ Print the form on 1 Page (back to back)
~ We need the original form, please hand deliver, courier or post to our address
